Dear Year 6 students and parents and carers

On behalf of myself, staff, governors and trustees I would like to personally invite you and your family to join us for our Year 6 Open School Events. These events will give you and your child a great insight into students’ learning opportunities at Worthing High School.

Worthing High is a very popular, successful, oversubscribed school. The school is founded on our Core values: Integrity, Community, Excellence, Respect and Resilience. All students in our community have the right to learn and thrive in an environment which is calm, safe and secure. This ensures that all students reach their full potential.

This year we have been faced with some unprecedented challenges to overcome and hopefully our proposal will allow you and your child to make an informed decision regarding your child’s next school.

On Thursday 24^th September we will also be making available via our website and school youtube channel, a variety of visual materials which will highlight the excellent facilities, resources and  teaching and learning opportunities that we have at Worthing High.

We recognise that this is such an important decision and because of this and wanting to showcase our school in a Covid19 safe manner we have decided to offer:

• An evening event  on Thursday 24^th September between 3.30pm and 7.45pm
• A Saturday Open Morning event on Saturday 26^th September between 9am and 1.15pm.

The events will be a socially distanced whereby you will be able to attend the school with your child (one parent/one child only) to view our school site and see what is available at Worthing High School.

Due to high demand in previous years and managing the numbers through the school, we are asking all prospective parents/carers to book their tickets in advance.

There are only 180 places available for each day - 30 for each time slot - the booking links are below.

As per guidance from Public Health England and DfE we must insist on a strict invitation only event and there will sadly be no open admission on the day.

I appreciate that this is not what we would offer normally but we recognise how important it is for you and your child to see first-hand the outstanding opportunities at Worthing High School.

This will be the only opportunity to view the school as our normal Open Mornings will not be accessible due to Covid19 restrictions.
