Why join SDET ?
SDET was formed in February 2018 following the conversion of Worthing High School from a Single Academy Trust (SAT), established November 2012, to a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) in 2018. Clapham and Patching C of E Primary school joined the Trust on 1 November 2020.
The Trust aims to invite other schools from both secondary and primary phases to join when there is clear benefit in doing so for all parties.
SDET was formed for many reasons but primarily so that schools could benefit from joint planning and school-to-school support, to increase the number and range of opportunities for our children and young people, to offer inspiring opportunities for staff’s continuing professional learning (CPL) and to learn from each other so that collaboratively, we can deliver our vision.
Individual member schools retain their local context and identity by working in partnership. There will be great strength by bringing together groups of specialist professionals to facilitate massive gains for all. Whilst maintaining the character of each of our schools, we ensure a collective approach to improving performance by putting children and young people and staff at the centre of the decision-making process.
The ambition of SDET is to aspire for schools within the Trust to be outstanding both for the children and young people and for the staff within it.
